ELKHART, INDIANA (May 23, 2007) -- Sturgis Iron & Metal’s Mega Shredder – the largest metal shredder in North America -- will be featured on the History Channel’s MODERN MARVELS program on Wednesday, May 23, as part of a program titled “World’s Strongest II.”
The program is scheduled to air at 10: 00 p.m. ET/PT.
The Mega Shredder is capable of shredding and recycling cars, trucks, buses and other materials into scraps the size of softballs. Located at Sturgis Iron’s recycling facility in Elkhart, Indiana, the Mega Shredder began operation in 2006.
Truly a marvel of modern engineering, it is appropriate that the Mega Shredder will be featured on Modern Marvels. According to the History Channel website, the MODERN MARVELS program is dedicated to “celebrating ingenuity, invention and imagination brought to life on a grand scale,” and tells “the fascinating stories of… technological breakthroughs and man-made wonders.”
